June 2023

This evening was our Annual General Meeting which included the treasurer's report, membership report, discussion on the budget, explanation of the fees for 2023 - 2024, election of next year's executive, and an outline of some program ideas for next year.

Show and Share

Geri's Welcome sign designed by Liz Knudsen and Ann Pettit from Brightneedle LLC.

Nancy's Ann Morrison designed by Hands Across the Sea - an exclusive for Traditional Stitches' 20th anniversary.

Jeanette's five-sided etui or exploding box.

Sylvia's Dutch sampler
Victoria's box and pillow.

Jeanette also displayed three of her mother's projects completed for her Home Economics examination in England in 1949/1950. That was one of the subjects she took for the General Certificate of Education.
Geri's embroidery hoop box made from 4" hoops mounted on a 5" base. This project was inspired by Vonna Pfeiffer's blog post on the subject.

Our annual Trillium Annual Themed Award (TATA) competition takes place at our June meeting every year. This year's theme was 'nature'. We had many lovely entries in two categories: adapted chart or original design.

This year's winners were Sylvia for her embroidered ball.

and Poppy's original design inspired by a photograph. It included hand-painting on dupioni silk and embroidery depicting heavy snow on pine boughs.

Well done, everyone!
