Fall 2021

After a summer of stitching, Trillium members have had lots for Show and Share this fall.

Marion finished the Trish Burr partridge

and two turtle doves.

Sharon showed us Teresa Kogut's 'Pray'.

Sylvia does beautiful Hardanger stitching.

Kim displayed owls from a round robin.

She also completed a beaded sampler she designed in blacks and greys from Bead Embroidery Stitch Samples book.

Barb is working on the Smith Sampler from Hands Across the Sea.

The back of Victoria's sampler is as impressive as the front.

Her Crossed Wing chickadees.

And 20-year sunflower project.

Wendy's been working on Prairie Schooler cross stitch ornaments for her 6 grandchildren.

Bernie showed us a french purse with floral alphabet.

Judy finished a reindeer piece which she will be 'blinging up' with HotFix 'jewels'.

She's also working on a full coverage peony piece.

Jennifer P is working on a garden sampler.

Nicky has been working on Spell of the Moon from Winds of Autumn by Blackbird Designs

Marilyn's husband created the beautiful frame for her Pennsylvania Bird by Hello from Liz Mathews.

Marilyn also creates adorable itty bitty needle-felted critters which she displays on spools of thread. 

She completed a Halloween sampler from Cross Stitcher magazine,

and a 3-block wool felt appliqué wall hanging.

Geri also stitched a Jean Farish Humbug.

She finished the Wm Morris 'Strawberry Thief',

continues work on her faux Sashiko piece on navy Aida,

and the Barbara Ana design, 'Holy Night', which has a star button, Mill Hill beads for stars. and HotFix 'jewels' for snowflakes.

The Trillium Guild will be celebrating 25 years since its inception. At a meeting next spring, some of the founding members will speak to the group about how the guild began.

Many of our projects were on display at the Ajax Public Library this November. 

A new stitcher has joined the guild as a result of this publicity. 

June 2021

We had our last meeting of 2020-2021 this month. We did some business, presented our new slate of officers and acclaimed them, thanked our outgoing president Bernie, had Show and Share, shared some program ideas for next year, and did some chatting.

We hope to be able to meet in person come September.

January 2021

 We met again via Zoom.

Marilyn showed us a couple of Christmas ornaments she recently finished.

Sylvia completed an intricate Hardanger piece from Inspirations magazine

and a finished canvaswork kimono piece.

Prompted by a discussion of Erica Wilson, Sylvia showed us a piece stitched with silk from one of Erica's workshops at EGA.

December 2020

At our December meeting we have an ornament exchange. This year, since we can't meet in person, we decided to deliver or mail the ornament to the person and most of us waited until the meeting to open them.

Here's a parade of ornaments and their recipients.

Poppy didn't make it to our meeting but this is the ornament she received in the ornament exchange.

Kim and Meagan showed off Jeanette's Christmas quilt which they mounted on a panel so it could be displayed. It is bedazzled with many 'jewels' including the reindeer's necklace. Each one of those red berries is a little red rhinestone plus many, many more.

Not to be outdone, Sharon shared the photo of her puppy, Milo, after he'd been to the groomer on his 6 month birthday.

Marion showed us the German sampler that she's been working on for many months.

It was a really fun meeting. Then we all toasted, wishing each other Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year.
